Happy Birthday, Hubby!

Today is my husband's birthday. He doesn't get excited about birthdays like I do. I'm a sucker for birthdays! You'd think mine was a national holiday the way I carry on! (well, it does precede an actual national holiday, doesn't that count for something?) I baked Hubby a cake last night. Thank goodness for Duncan Hines! He wanted me to buy a cake a few weeks ago and he chose marble. I told him to choose because I wasn't baking it til his birthday! I have never made marble cake before. I think it looks delicious and I cannot wait to eat it!



I was hoping we'd go out to eat. Hubby is working again. He's doing subcontracting for some local building and installation companies. I think it's a good start for what he ultimately wants: self-employment (don't we all!). He got paid, but we haven't been able to deposit the funds yet! It is so frustrating! Maybe tomorrow we can do something special. And eat that cake!

Tonight I shouldn't downplay too much. We went to he supermarket and got some shrimp, fettucine, alfredo sauce, and a steak. Hubby had steak and I had shrimp alfredo. I was just all dressed up with no place to go!
