Happy Fourth!

It's been awhile since I've written anything here. Life's been nuts and busy. I hope everyone enjoyed the Fourth of July weekend! I had a great weekend. My birthday was the third so I took an extra day off. Thursday night Hubby and I went out to eat at The Olive Garden with my parents. How fortunate they told the waitress it was my day. I got the embarrassing happy birthday treatment. We were tucked away in a corner so I survived. The cake was excellent and so was the Riesling! Oh, dinner was tasty, too. I had seafood portofino. So did Hubby and Dad. Mom had lasagna.

Friday night Hubby and I had friends over. I had invited at least a dozen people. Three of my friends came over. Perhaps next time we won't have it on the actual holiday. In any case, it was a good time. One friend brought me a bottle of Riesling as a birthday gift and wouldn't you know, it was the Chateau! I told her I was so happy she got that brand. I was trying to remember what it was because it's so good. Now I have a bottle (er...had a bottle...) and I can buy a refill in the future! We had potluck for supper. Hubby and I cooked brats, burgers, and hot dogs on the grill. I had made a linguine salad in the morning and the others brought dips, desserts, and mint for mojitos! There was eating, drinking, dogs, and sheep!

We did notice that the sheep were not very active Friday night. This morning we discovered why. Bo, our boy sheep, ate rhododendron. Little did we know that is bad for sheep. We learned a lesson that he could have died from eating it. Fortunately, we caught it in time and Hubby nursed him back to health. By this evening he was standing up and grazing again! Thank goodness!

In the meantime, I was able to go on a shopping trip with my mom. I have been wanting a Vera Bradley purse for some time now. Today Mom took me out shopping and she bought me a purse! I wanted the same style she has, but not the same purse. I found a great one in Caffe Latte! I also got a "tech case" to match. The tech case is for iPods, cameras, phones, whatever you need. It's perfect for my camera! The weekend was excellent!
