Well, don't get too excited. I'm just enjoying a relaxed lifestyle. It's nice doing things on my own time instead of on someone else's schedule. I accomplished a lot. The kitchen is clean. Laundry's almost caught up. The dog got some play time. The sheep are watered and fed. On top of the necessities, I got to do some reading. Some friends of mine who also enjoyed the Twilight series recommended the Sourthern Vampire Series or Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. They said I might like them. Well, they're right! I'm reading Dead Until Dark and I'm loving it! Reading all these books has me thinking where are the vampires and are they available??? LOL
Hubby is visiting an old friend in Michigan. He's been planning the trip for weeks. Last night we stayed up late watching the Cavs game. What a nailbiter! We still can't believe LeBron made that final 3 point shot in the last second for the win! The game ended around midnight. Hubby went to bed. I stayed up because I wasn't tired as usual. I think I finally went to bed around 3:00 a.m. I'm hoping to do that again tonight because I'm home alone!
This trip almost didn't happen. Hubby woke up cranky this morning and complaining that he didn't want to go. I told him he couldn't do that to his friend. He was expecting him, after all! (And I was expecting a full 24+ hours to myself...) After a lot of moaning and groaning, Hubby took off around noon. Now, it's not like this is a 5 hour drive. Not even close. It's maybe 2.5 hours away. That's nothing in my book. ;) I think it would be a good experience. His friend works for the Coast Guard and lives on a boat. It sounds pretty cool to me. Turns out I was right. Hubby called me a few hours ago while I was out to have a bite to eat with my parents. He said it's very relaxing there and he's having a great time. I knew once he was there he would be glad he went. Sometimes it just takes a little prodding to get him to where he's going. And in most cases, once he's there, he's happy.
So, it's been just me and Billy and the sheep. Billy got some outside time. The sheep and Billy ran around together for a bit. Then I brought Billy in and he watched me eat and to his shock I shared some steak and potato with him! I don't typically give him table scraps, but when "daddy"'s away I will treat the dog right. ;)
It's interesting when it is just me and Billy. He goes into total guard dog mode. He follows me everywhere. earlier this evening I was in here reading and he was lying down underneath the desk. Then he suddenly got up. He heard cars going by and I think he heard the neighbors. He suddenly starting barking like mad. He was very protective. He is very observant of noises around us when Hubby is gone. It's cool. I like that about having a bigger dog. I also think he was under the impression that Hubby was coming back. A couple of times he was jumping up to see into the garage like he expected to see Hubby coming in. No Hubby. Not tonight. He'll be back tomorrow.
