Hockey Fun!

Saturday afternoon I got a surprise phone call from a friend. She had two tickets to the Lake Erie Monsters game! She wasn't in the mood to go out so she asked if we wanted them. Of course we did! Hubby loves hockey! The Monsters are a minor league AHL team. They are owned by the Colorado Avalanche. We had great seats! Prior to the game we went to The Winking Lizard for a beer and some wings. I had my favorite: Magic Hat #9. Yummy! The wings weren't bad, but I think my heart still lies with Buffalo Wild Wings.
The game started at 7:30, but we were early. They had wine at the hockey game! Who knew? I got a cup of wine and Hubby had a draft beer. I was really amused to drink wine at a sporting event. I think that was a first for me. For all I know, though, they always have it available. I can be in the dark about such things, you know. The arena was surprisingly warm for an ice hockey game. I had to remove my jacket and I am usually one to freeze.
I thought the game was entertaining. We did notice A LOT of small children at the game. It was a little too kid-friendly for Hubby. He wants to see a NHL game. He would love to see a CBJ game! It looks like they've made the Stanley Cup playoffs. How cool it would be if we could get some tickets to that! I have a friend in Columbus so perhaps we can make some plans. That would be cool!
We ended up leaving the Monsters game after the second period. Hubby couldn't take the kids anymore and we were both tired...sort of. We went home and watched some TV. We were up til about midnight. I guess that's kinda late. Today we've both been sluggish. It has to be a combination of the weather and for me, the meds I've been taking since my allergic reaction. I slept untli noon, after all; waking up once around 5:30 a.m. in a panic that it was Monday and I had to go  to work!
Today I cheated and had some of that hummus and had no reaction. I am convinced the flavored water was the culprit. How odd! Now I must force myself to go to sleep. I have a long day of work and Mary Kay events tomorrow and it is going to have me running on E. I have to get up early to throw something in the crockpot for Hubby since I will most likely not be home til 10:00. Ugh! I hope I make it!
