I haven't written in awhile. I've been wanting to. Just got real busy. About 2 weeks ago I got an online order from a new customer. It turned out she had picked up my card at a local fair last summer. I called to follow up and schedule delivery and learned she also used to be a consultant many years ago. She had also told me that she was recently diagnosed with cancer and was just starting chemo.
The following Friday I met her in person. She is a very nice lady. She lives in another town nearby, but was in my area visiting her aunt who is 102 years old! I can only hope to live that long, but my grandparents are all alive and doing quite well so there is hope for me yet!
My new customer told me more about her cancer. She has small cell lung cancer and it has spread to her liver. She is on chemo and she said her doctor projects she has about a year to live. I can't imagine knowing something like that. She seems very healthy about it. She's a very strong woman and I admire that. She said she has been on the chemo for maybe a week and so far she feels great. She said her hair will probably fall out soon and she's not sure what to think about that. Kudos to her and I hope she beats the odds her doctor gave her! She has such great spirit she may just do that.
