Tagged: Blessing in Disguise

Let's see...can I think of something that seemed really bad, but ended up being a blessing in disguise? I'm not sure. I think the best incident I can recall was the year I auditioned for The Cincinnati Ballet. For the record, I don't audition well. I do believe that is what prevented me from getting a dance career. The audition wasn't my worst, but it certainly wasn't my best. A few weeks later, I got a letter that said I had not gotten into the company. I was upset. I wouldn't say I was heartbroken or devastated, but I was definitely disappointed. The next day, a riot broke out in the city and there were safety curfews. It made me glad that I wouldn't be moving to Cincinnati.
