Gas Mileage Tally

Since the cost of gas is disgusting and astronomical and only going up, I decided to figure out my car's gas mileage today. For anyone who doesn't know how to calculate it, this is what you do:

1. Next time you fill your gas tank, reset the odometer to 0000.
2. When you are in need of a refill, look at the miles you've driven since the last fill-up.
3. After filling up, look at how many gallons you have pumped into your car.
4. Divide the number of miles by the number of gallons. The result is your gas mileage (miles to the gallon)!

Now, I kind of gave my car too much credit. I thought I was getting 36 miles to the gallon. So, tonight after work I figured it out. Since my last fill-up I drove 431 miles. Can you believe it--431 miles on one tank of gas! And that is in ONE WEEK! YUCK! So, I filled up and it stopped at 13.1 gallons. So, 7/431 = 32.9! Not too shabby! I love my Honda Accord!

Nissans rock, too! My last car was a Nissan Altima. I got 230,000 miles outta that car! The gas mileage is a little better on my Accord, but it certainly wasn't bad on my Altima. ;)
