Working a Weekend

It's the first Saturday of Summer classes and my department is mandated to work. Granted, it's a half day, but I really like sleeping in on Saturdays. Saturday is typically my favorite day of the week because I can sleep in and stay up late. My two favorite activities! LOL Today I have to work 9:00-2:00. Boo hoo. It interferes with my life.

Tomorrow morning there is a 7 mile training walk for The Breast Cancer 3 Day. I was planning to go, but now I'm not so sure. I want to sleep in a little. I especially want to not feel rushed because I have agreed to take on a hefty MK task tomorrow. A girl in my unit managed to book makeup application for some kind of kids' show at a local theater. It's 86 faces! Yikes! Her recruiter bailed on her so she asked our director to send a mass email to find her some help! I jumped at this opportunity. I have tons of samples that I need to use up. The goal will be to find new customers in the moms. I've done this type of thing with my business before. It's a not a bad route to go. Most of the moms will probably want to do their own kids' makeup anyway. I'm just providing the paint, so to speak! It will be exciting and fun. So far, three of us have volunteered. I think 2 more would be ideal.

So, I've managed to get myself busy this weekend. This is good. Another good thing is that the girl who set this MK thing up works in advertising for the local newspaper. I am going to talk to her about posting an ad for Hubby's new business venture as well. Sounds like it is win/win!

As far today, I am stuck here for another 2 1/2 hours. I guess that's not too bad considering I'm halfway through my shift. Woo hoo! It has been interesting. My ridiculous supervisor, whom I refer to as "stupidvisor," fell asleep at her desk! Are you kidding me?! Yes, she was nodding off. Funny, her supervisor noticed she had turned her phone off for her nippy-nap. Either that or she missed a call which caused the phone to change to "off." That could happen. Not sure which is worse. My coworker managed to get photographic evidence. We are so evil.

I thought you meant she fell asleep at home! Ha ha.

Good for you! I would make some goody bags for the moms with your business card and do your best to book classes. You can do it!

There was no time for goody bags. I'm glad I didn't take the time. I got 3 leads. I'm calling them all tomorrow. Two are twins that need a consultant. I was putting makeup on little kids the whole time. It was fun. Just didn't see many adults.
