Tonight we planted our mini garden in the back yard. Actually, we planted tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers where our wood pile had been during the winter and we planted strawberries over by the deck. I'm not sure how to take care of strawberries so I hope they get the appropriate amount of sunlight. The veggies should do well in their location. It will be so nice to not spend a fortune on tomatoes. They are so expensive! Peppers aren't too cheap either, but tomatoes are around $3 or $4/pound! YUCK! If I spot zucchini plants I will buy myself one of those, too. I love planting zucchini. What I grow in my garden is typically larger and healthier looking than the pitiful zucchinis at the grocery store. And they are expensive, too. We have more space around the house. I may plant some herbs, too.
For now, I'm happy with my little veggie patch and strawberry "field." :)

I love how it's just tucked away right beside your deck.
We planted two window boxes with short carrots and radishes. We'll see how our "graden" grows...
I hope those strawberries don't eventually devour the deck, Darla! :)
Good luck with your carrots and radishes, Emily. We've never planted carrots, but we did well with radishes a few years ago.
