The longer I stayed at work yesterday the worse that migraine got. It was the worst migraine I've had in awhile. By the time I left work I was worried I wouldn't drive well. Fortunately, traffic isn't too crazy at 6:00. I got home around 7:00 and Hubby was hungry for spaghetti. So, I made spaghetti in a foggy blur! By this time I was starving anyway so I knew I had to eat something. I had a plate of spaghethttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifti. It was really good (good to know I can cook under the pressure of a migraine induced haze). Unfortunately, I was beginning to feel more nauseous so I went to bed. I put a blindfold on and was unable to sleep so I decided to take some more Excedrin. I hadn't taken any since 3:30 Thursday morning.
I was still feeling horrible. It didn't help that Hubby was being loud and blaring the TV. I have no idea what was on, but the person's voice was really resonating in my skull. I closed the bedroom door and yelled at him to turn the TV down. He didn't (and if he did, I sure couldn't tell). Eventually, Hubby came down the hall and I heard him go into the office -- where I was NOT. Finally, he realized I was in bed! "I didn't know you were sick!" He said. I only told him I had a migraine. I only didn't go in to work until noon! UGH! Do men ever listen?!
About an hour after taking the Excedrin I was feeling a little better. Sitting up was feasible without lightheadedness and nausea. I watched the Indians game with Hubby (sort of). It was getting cold with the a/c on so I chatted online for a bit. Because of the migraine fog, I don't recall the order of events, but at some point I went back into the living room and saw that Flashdance was on!
Time stops for Flashdance. :) Granted, it is probably the most inaccurate portrayal of the dance world ever put on film, but it's entertaining. It was late. I decided to go to bed around 10:30 since I hadn't been well all day. After, I had to get up for work in the morning...
...Which brings us to today. Today I woke up at 5:30 feeling foggy. The alarm went off at 6:00 and I was still in a haze. I wasn't sure if we were going to be relocating to our new space at work so in case that was the plan, I decided to go in. On the other hand, I also decided that if we weren't moving today, I would leave after our staff meeting. In a migraine induced stupor I drove to work. Sometimes I wonder how I make it alive in a car with a migraine. My eyelids are heavy. My brain is clouded. My thoughts are diluted. It's scary.
So, I made it to work early. I could tell my mind was mush and I would be worthless on the phones. I was pretty worthless yesterday, but at least it was slow. I called our department director and told him I was feeling pretty sick and I asked him if we were moving today. He said we are not moving until middle of next week. This came as a relief. I have some personal items in my current desk drawer that I want to take home, but I didn't feel like doing that today. Since we aren't moving until next Wednesday or so, that buys me some time and I don't have to lug any crap from work today. Beautiful. I informed the boss I would be leaving after our meeting.
At about 20 to 9:00 our meeting let out. My coworker showed me her new car. She got an SUV so that she can tote her dog around more easily. Cute car. At about 8:48 I was back in my car heading home in my migraine fog. I came home, ate, crashed and didn't wake up again until noon. It is now 9:00 p.m. This is the most "normal" I've felt since about this time Wednesday. A 48 hour migraine. Nice. I hate migraines!

It must be the week of migraines. I'm glad yours is on the upswing.
Bless you! I don't know how you did the things you did! If I go to bed and shut the lights and tv off~Jedd will not turn the tv on-he knows it is migraine time because he has them occasionally too! He is pretty good about that. One time~I taught class with the lights off and my sunglasses on-I was getting one in the latter half of the day and others knew what was going on-thank goodness.
Hope you don't see another for a LONG time!
Thanks, Mere! I hope so, too! There have been days where I could wear shades in the office. I used to work with a guy who had to do just that. His migraines might have been worse than mine! I feel like mine are getting progressively worse as I age. That's not a good sign!
