Night Out

Hubby got tickets to tonight's Indians game. They played the Padres. Cliff Lee was the starting pitcher. It was a beautiful day for a ball game! The theme this weekend was 70's weekend. The players from both teams wore throw-back jerseys from 1978. All spectators were given free ball caps with the 1978 logo on the front. This came in very handy during the sunset! Sunglasses just weren't enough!

The game started with the ceremonial first pitch being thrown by the actor who played "Squiggy" on Laverne and Shirley. I have no idea why he was in Cleveland. Maybe he actually lives here. The Indians took an early lead, but wound up losing 8-3. We left just before the Padres hit a grand slam in the 10th.

We had fun. I had a bratwurst, Hubby bought peanuts and nachos. It was a real night out and a great date! When we got there we had our picture taken by someone for the True Fans site. We took some pics of our own that were better.

Now I am ready for bed!

Thanks! It was fun--even though the Indians blew it. :P We even bought the expensive stadium food! It was a true baseball experience! :)

baseball games are always so much fun! I wish we got to go to more than one game a year. It's just too expensive.

We do have a minor league team in the next bigger town over, a "A" affiliate of the Cubs and Ryno himself. We have to get the kids there.

Oh, cool! That would be fun! We have a Single A team in Lake County, but Indians tickets aren't too pricy and we always sit in the upper sections. Fun times! :)
