Today is Fat Tuesday. I am already following my Lenten routine. I decided to start ASAP. I really want to find a diet and routine that benefits me to the max. No pop. I will only drink it if I have an unbearable migraine. Sometimes this helps a migraine. I do this when I feel like I've taken too many Excedrins lately. Instead of pop I will drink iced tea or bottled water for lunch. I like to drink (hot) white tea, green tea, and red tea. I drink water and/or Gatorade when I'm active. My doctor recommends I drink a gallon of water each day! This is difficult for me to adjust to. I am at a half gallon right now. I will get there. I've decided I'm also going to cut back on chocolate. I'm not going to cut it out completely, but I'm definitely going to indulge much less.
I'm still trying to incorporate yoga into my daily routine. This morning was difficult energy-wise. I had trouble getting out of bed at all. There was a nasty storm last night. Surprisingly, it woke me up. It always wakes hubby when there is bad weather, but I usually sleep through the loudest thunder. What's weird is it was mainly wind and rain that woke us up. Now that's a heavy wind! It was 2:30 a.m. Yuck.
The alarm went off at 5:30. I couldn't get up. I had trouble falling asleep last night and then I woke up from the storm about 2 hours later. I forced myself out of bed around 6:15. Needless to say, there was no yoga today.
Fortunately, I'm not being completely inactive. I do have aerobics class this evening. That is better than nothing. Hopefully, the more I exercise on a regular basis, the more energy I will develop. I'll team it up with appropriate diet and sleeping patterns and maybe my energy will return to where I don't feel like the walking dead.

UGH I hate that feeling.
Don't overdo it or you will exhaust yourself more than help.
Which kind of pop? I drink caffeine free diet coke. I'm thinking about giving up all but one a day (first of all I have no idea when I moved to 2-3 a day grrrr and second of all, I think it's causing other "issues" that are not fun).
I might join you on the limited pop thing. *thinking*
I am joining you on the "no pop" thing, as you Yankees call it. Here in Dallas, we say "coke" to mean any soda. In any case, I had my last one for 6 weeks tonight. Bye bye, coke!
Hello ladies!
Free--lately I've been drinking a lot of Cherry Coke. I'm more of a Pepsi person, but flavored Coke is good! lol I drink it for the caffeine. I don't like drinking it too much because 1. it causes bloating; and 2. it is hard on the teeth! Every Lent I give it up and I usually don't want it as often once Lent is over. Somehow I work my way up to excess, however, so I give it up again the next year. My goal is to cut it down to just one a day max (when Lent is over). My mom won't drink any pop before 3:00 p.m. She thought she was drinking too much of it at one point, too.
MK Rules--great to see you here, girl! Up here we call it "pop;" if you go to New York or New Jersey it's called "soda;" in the South everything is "coke." lol For some reason this topic came up in English class when we talked about colloquialisms.
