Last night just as we were getting ready to go to bed, Hubby realized it had been awhile since he'd heard the sump pump run. He decided to go down into the crawlspace and see if it was running. Lo and behold, the crawlspace was flooded! Then the flashlight seemed to need new batteries so he was pissed off about that. I played around with it and then he turn on the light. Weird. In any case, this discovery was made around 11:00 p.m. For the next hour or so, Hubby was ranting and raving about the flooding and how awful this house is. I don't blame him for feeling that way; it's just that these things tend to happen in the middle of the night--when we need to be asleep! :)
I guess he kind of fixed it. Then he decided to run the furnace to dry out the crawlspace; which worked, however, it brought up a dank smell. Blech! Fortunately, it cleared rather quickly.
Now I feel like a complete zombie. Hopefully, I can bounce back and I think I'll do some yoga tonight for sure. I don't have any classes so I should be able to fit that in and maybe feel a little relaxed!

Ick, ick, ick!!!
The good thing about me being here at home in the basement is that I am constantly hearing the sump pump pumping.
I'm just glad we don't store much in the crawlspace. My parents' basement flooded a few years ago and a lot of keepsakes were ruined. I'm glad we didn't have that kind of a problem last night.
Oyyyyyyyyyy! We had a bad flood (13" of rain in 15 days) when we lived in our other house and we ran 3 sump pumps and they couldn't always keep up (and we burnt up a couple and replaced them). One night while we were asleep - we lost power. *gulp*
Thank goodness everything was already up on to pallets and 2 x 4s but dang what a mess!!!
Be sure to use some chlorine water to clean the crawlspace so you don't get mold.
That's the LAST thing you need with EBV!
