Sleep Rhythm

My new friend at We R Living Free challenged me to get 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night. I'm happy to report I came very close! I got a whopping 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep! I feel pretty good, too. I feel alert and active. I normally get 5 or 6 hours of sleep during the week. I usually feel good with this. I've found in the past that when I sleep 7 hours or more, I feel the need to just stay asleep! I'm not sure why. I've never required a lot of sleep--even during my dance days when I was actively dancing 30+ hours each week. When I got rocked by mono in 1995 some things changed. I needed naps!
I was often up late at night, but always managed to get a little nap in here and there. It was working well. I was going to school, working part time, maintaining a social life, and of course dancing. I had a full life! In 1997, I couldn't seem to get enough sleep and that was when I was diagnosed with the EBV. It comes and goes. Right now, it's here! I have just been exhausted all week. Since the EBV is rearing its lovely head right now, the 9 hours of sleep is working for me. I think I'm going to have to force myself to go to bed at an earlier hour.
Hubby and I had a really good pattern when we first moved into this house. He was working construction and had to be up by 5 or 6 so we went to bed between 9 and 10. We both got up together, had breakfast, etc. It was a great routine! Somehow, it changed over the years. I think part of it came from the implication of our cable and internet. Once we had TV and a computer to play on we found ways to occupy what used to be sleep time. Hmmm...I think we need to revisit that old routine!
In any case, I've done some laundry cooked us breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen mess, and now have a minute to sit and type. Hubby is passed out on the couch. Not sure why he's so tired. We went to bed at the same time. Maybe that big breakfast knocked him out!
Plans for today include grocery shopping and fun shopping! Woo hoo!

Good for you! The ONLY thing that will cure an EBV flare is 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and 10 hours is even better!

Thanks for the chat last night and the night b4 and the night b4. :D

I got so much done today too!!!!! I even tried to take a nap two different times and all I could do was rest so I HOPE that means I am on the upswing of this crash.

Here's to a SLEEP FILLED NIGHT!

Night! Love ya girlie. D

Hey Mercedes! Great to see you here! I'm kind of a blog addict right now. I have 3 active blogs. I am most active with this one and Shades of Pink right now. As I start working on The 3 Day again, Miracle Walker will probably pick up as well. I had a lot of time on my hands when I got started. Lately I've been busy. I like writing, though. Sometimes I think I communicate better in writing than I do verbally.

Free--thanks for that bit of info. I'm going to see what 7-9 hours during the work week does for me. I've gotten a bit done today, too. Hubby and I even spent some good times shopping today. Now I have to see what he's up to so he doesn't feel neglected...MEN! :) I've enjoyed our chats and hopefully, we can chat often.

Here's the kicker Miss Zen, you have to do that 7-9 hours of sleep thing every single night for 6-9 mos to see a consistent improvement. Then for the next 6-9 mos after that they can start looking at reducing meds (if you take any - this is mostly FM talk here).

It's no small undertaking, but together WE CAN DO IT!

Thanks for that info, Free! I'm not on meds--no meds for EBV. I just have to get on a vitamin routine, I think. It certainly can't hurt. I will get disciplined. I was doing great about 3 years ago when we first moved into this house. Hubby was working construction and had to get up early. I just followed his sleep schedule and it was great! Things have changed recently with his new job and all. I think I can pull it off, though! Thanks for your support! :)
