This week has been a good week overall. Last weekend, Hubby and I had a great discussion and we aired out some misunderstandings we had. As a result, we have been getting along famously and life has been good. Basically, what happened was we had a little argument via IM. I think it helped a lot because instead of just arguing and not listening the way things can happen in person, we were reading each other's words. I truly believe that reading something can make it clear as day where spoken word can sometimes fall on deaf ears or http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifselective hearing. ;) We both learned things about the other that we were not aware of and we have a better understanding as a result.
In spite of the confrontation at work on Friday, I feel better about that, too. The rest of the work day went smoothly. I felt very relieved. It was a good feeling to have all that tension release.
This weekend has been perfect. Friday night Hubby and I went out for drinks at Bennigan's. It was a nice little date. We watched the Cavs game and they won. I had a Death by Chocolate Martini and he had some beers. I had potato soup. I asked for no bacon. They took it off the top, but apparently couldn't leave it out completely. No worries. It was good!
Saturday night I went to a birthday gathering at Ginza. This is my favorite sushi place. Actually, it's the only real sushi place I've been to, but I love it! I got to catch up with my friends whom I haven't seen in quite some time. We've all been busy and had personal things to sort through in our separate lives. It was great to be together again! The guest of honor is moving out of state this summer. We will need to have a girls night before she leaves! The food was excellent. I got my favorites: California rolls, unagi (eel), and spider maki (softshell crab roll--the crab's claws stick out giving it the appearance of a spider, hence the name). I had Kinsen plum wine to drink. I need to find out where I can buy a bottle of that! Good stuff! Great times!
Today I spent the day shopping with my mom. We went to Borders. I got a vegetarian cookbook that I'm really going to enjoy! It has recipes for veggies crumbles (soy substitutes for chicken and ground beef). It's called 365 Easy Vegetarian Recipes by Sally N. Hunt, Ph.D. I can't wait to get cookin'!
After Borders we went to Max & Erma's for drinks and appetizers. Again, I kept up with my vegetarian diet. I got black bean rolls which were tastier than I thought they'd be. :P It was nice to spend time with Mum.
I came home and did some housework that I'd put off. I did dishes, laundry, Swiffered the floors, and cleaned the bathroom. I had to do the Swiffer before Hubby got home. He thinks Swiffer doesn't work effectively. I love it. And if he doesn't like it, he can clean the floors, IMO! ;) Honestly, he has no idea I used it. He said he could tell I had cleaned. HA!
I have energy. I felt a little sleepy when I was at the restaurant this afternoon. I feel good now, though. Last night I got about 8 hours of sleep and I slept well throughout the night! It has been such a long time since that has happened. Something must be changing. I think it's a combination of things. I've relieved a bit of my stress, I've improved my diet--and this all vegetarian and fish diet seems to be working wonders so far. It's only been a few days, I know; but I'm thinking the results are forthcoming.
Tomorrow it's back to work. I'm a little bummed, but I'm coming off a great weekend so that helps. :)
