Fight The Frump Friday: Flaunt a Hott Hairdo!

I'm really late getting this posted tonight. It's been crazy. For the future, I think I will write these a few days in advance. ;) Anyway, I digress!
It's Fight the Frump Friday hosted by Fussypants! Today's installment is all about HOTT hair! I recently made a dramatic change to my hair. I went from long, brown hair to short, blonde hair. It's blonde highlights, but it looks really blonde. The best part--highlights are low maintenance compared to dying the whole head!
Now, I'm not suggesting we all go out and get the "Posh Bob," but I am saying that a little change never hurt anyone. ;) I always liked having long hair (and Hubby has always preferred long hair--MEN!), but I like my hair more short. I had a short style about 3 years ago and then Hubby proposed. I decided I wanted long hair for the wedding so I grew it out. I had every intention of chopping it off again after the honeymoon (LOL), but Hubby objected. It was OK because I wasn't sure what look I wanted. Then, one night we were randomly channel surfing and some Access Hollywood show or something like it was on and they flashed a shot of Victoria Beckham across the screen. I instantly fell in love with the hairstyle she had! This was in October or so. Finally, about three or four weeks ago, I got my new style!
There are many things to love about it:

~It is low maintenance. I can do a little and still have it look pretty damn good!
~If I don't feel like putting on a full face of makeup, my hairstyle makes up for it.
~My thin hair has way more body when it's short. No more flat hair!
~Hats are a lot cuter with shorter hair, in my opinion.
~It's a refreshing change and I can't imagine getting sick of it!

So, if you need a change and want to feel a little more sassy and HOTT a new hairstyle might be the perfect remedy! Fight that Frump! ;)

Since I got mine redone (to look like Mika's on MSNBC) I feel the same way! I don't need near as much make up and I don't have to dink as much either to get a "good hair day".

Yippee!!

It is a great feeling, isn't it? :)

I can't do a short look and my hair has been this length for a while so I'm attached to it. So I go blonder in the summer and browner in the winter to keep the change going. My hair is so thick if I got cut short like that, I would look like a mushroom.

I can understand that, Valarie. :) I think any update to a hairstyle (long or short) can definitely boost the self esteem. It can be a trim, highlights, or something dramatic; but as long as we love the look, we are going to feel fabulous!

My hair is extremely thin. It is thinner now than it was 10 years ago. I think my underactive thyroid is the culprit. Because my hair is so thin, it gets really flat on top when it's long. It is also brittle and the ends split so it just gets unhealthy. I always feel refreshed when I chop all that length off and shock everyone with short hair. I think I'm going to keep my hair short from now on. ;)
