This was a fun day. It started with a Training Kickoff for The 3 Day. My team member came to my house and I drove us to the mall where the event was being held. We got there at a great time. No line had formed yet. We stretched and set off on the 3 mile walk. Yes, we were "mall walkers" this morning! We were told 9 laps around the mall from Macey's to Sears would equal 3 miles. We had a slow start, but by about the 4th or 5th lap, we were in a groove and had some adrenaline causing us to walk at a faster pace. We completed the walk in about an hour. This is consistent with my treadmill speed. :)
After the walk I met with another friend for lunch. We hadn't seen each other in almost a year. She is sick. She has something which doctors cannot identify. She has been to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for multiple tests. Her symptoms consist of severe pain, lesions on her face and body (they began on her face), scarring. She has been tested for lupus, auto-immune diseases, scleroderma, multiple bacteria and parasites, allergies, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, mono, several staph infections; and all have come up negative. She has seen around 30 doctors--not just dermatologists, but multiple specialists in different fields (when it began, she thought it was a skin problem, but it seems to be nerve-related as well). She is on several painkillers. She is on perkoset, lyrica, and wears a fentanyl patch! She and I see a common doctor and that doctor can't figure it out either. I hope they can figure it out. There is still so much that is unknown, it is possible they haven't yet discovered what she has.
We had a good time together, though. We went to Kohl's after lunch and shopped. We also went to her house. She has another dog. She has a schnoodle. I never thought I'd think much of a schnoodle, but she reminded me a lot of my schnauzer. I miss my schnauzer. A schnoodle, in case you're wondering, is part schnauzer and part poodle. Cute doggie! I was gone a good 5 hours. I was gone much longer than I wanted to be and I spent a little more than I should have, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. We have to do things more often.
Now I'm home getting ready to clean the bathroom. Hubby will be home around 10. I think he is still sick and feeling worse than ever. I hope he gets better soon.

It's good that you got to spend some quality time with your friend. Bless her heart! I hope the docs figure it out real soon! I love Kohls, but I don't get there much. Jedd's mom goes at least once a week. I am with you on getting posts ready in advance, but it seems I am already to far behind to get ahead-LOL! So how is the campaign going? Have you raised amy more money? How about making a sign for hubby to take to his work-that is what a fellow teacher did. She also went around and asked all of us for donations and got quite a bit. She is raising funds for Relay for Life. Good Luck!
Thanks for all the fund raising advice! I haven't gotten any more donations yet. I printed out some 3 Day biz cards that I am going to attach to my MK biz cards. Hubby works in a retail establishment. He might not be allowed to put up a sign there. I'm working some things out, though. I should be back in business soon. ;)
Good Luck to you! I so hope you make your goal this year!
